Max Fleischmann, Jr., 87, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, died on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at a local health care  facility.

He was born in Astoria, NY in 1925 and lived in the Chattanooga area since 1988. He was a retired food service executive; a veteran of World War II, having served  in the U.S. Army in China-Burma-India theatre. He was also an avid golfer, and was of the Episcopal faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Salvo Fleischmann.

Survivors include his son, U.S. Representative Chuck (Brenda) Fleischmann of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Charles, James, and Jeffrey.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
