Silvey, Debbie Alexander

Debbie Alexander Silvey, 54, of Ringgold, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, surrounded by her family.

She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and a member of Ringgold First Baptist Church. Debbie retired from the Catoosa County Board of Education in 2013 after 13 years of teaching at Tiger Creek Elementary School. She was an amazing and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and teacher. Debbie was filled with love, strength and joy for living. Her husband, son, family, friends and students will all miss her.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Alexander.

She is survived by her loving husband, of 30 years, Kevin Silvey; son, Alex Silvey of Ringgold; mother, Edna Alexander of Fort Oglethorpe; sister, Cindy Pike of LaFayette; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 at Ringgold First Baptist Church, with Reverend Jim Bailiff and Dr. Dan Whitaker officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, and prior to leaving for the church on Sunday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home-Wallis Stewart Chapel.
