World War II Veteran Was Owner Of Wilkinson Sales For Over 30 Years

Harry Clifton Wilkinson, Sr., 92, of East Ridge, died on Thursday, January 29, 2015.

Harry is survived by his wife, Doris Marilyn Wilkinson.  Also surviving are his children, Harry C. Wilkinson, Jr., Stanley W. (Donna) Wilkinson, Elyse Wilkinson (Steve) Irwin, and John H. (Alisa) Wilkinson.  He had 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wilkinson was born in Birmingham to Eddie and Hettie Wilkinson. He was a World War II Army/AirCorp veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre. He moved to Chattanooga in 1955 and started Wilkinson Sales, Inc. which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He had been a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church since 1956.  He and his wife, Mary, of 59 years, enjoyed traveling in their motorhome to all 48 contiguous states after he retired.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 6314 E. Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
