The Signal Mountain Ministerial Association will sponsor a community Harvest Hymn Festival in the St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church nave on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m.

The service will feature a festival choir composed of singers from local churches and a bluegrass group.  The congregation will be encouraged to join the choir on most of the hymns, both familiar and new.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for community members to gather as one body to give thanks at this season through a blending of songs, readings and prayers,” says Philip Newton, director of Music Ministries at St. Timothy’s.

Among program numbers are traditional hymns such as “Now Thank We All Our God,” “For the Beauty of the Earth,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing,” as well as songs such as “I’ll Fly Away” and “O Beautiful for Spacious Skies.”

An offering will be collected to support the work of the Signal Mountain Social Services.  Following the service everyone is invited to attend a reception in the church Parish Hall.

Mr. Newton states that all Signal Mountain vocalists are welcome to participate in the festival choir.  For more information, contact Mr. Newton at 886-2281, ext. 307.
