First Christian Church, 650 McCallie Ave., will host "Good Trouble," a community gathering inspired by the words and legacy of the late Congressman John Lewis, this Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
Officials said, "The event coordinators, Indivisible TAG (TN, AL, GA), invite Chattanoogans of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs to come together in the spirit of justice, courage and collective action.
"The evening will feature powerful speakers and opportunities for community connection.
Local organizers and advocates will share ways to get involved in ongoing efforts supporting the community in Chattanooga. Attendees can also sign up for volunteer opportunities, mutual aid projects and support networks."
“'Good Trouble' is about doing what’s right—even when it’s not easy,” said Victoria Flores, one of the event organizers. “It’s about showing up, speaking out and caring for our neighbors. This is a space for encouragement, honesty and action. Many of us are looking for what we can do - we plan to answer that very question.”
The event is free and open to the public, with resources and opportunities to connect provided. Families and youth are encouraged to attend.
"Join us as we make a little good trouble—together," organizers said.
