Fred DeBerry, 78, of Trion, GA, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. DebBerry was born in Summerville, GA on September 17, 1936, son of the late Ennis Harold DeBerry and Cecil Nelson DeBerry. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Air Force. Mr. Deberry was very active and loved working in church activities, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director and Sunday School Superintendent. He was retired from Reichhold Chemical Company.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy DeBerry and Terry DeBerry.

Mr. DeBerry is survived by his children, Jeffrey LaDon DeBerry, Timothy Scott DeBerry, Lisa DeBerry Crowe and her husband, Wayne, Amanda DeBerry Harmon and her husband, Scott; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Elaine DeBerry, Jerry Dale DeBerry and Harold and Sandra DeBerry; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Buddy Rosson, Linda and Bobby Shaver and Debbie England; grandchildren, Justin Crowe, Tyler DeBerry, Chance DeBerry, Tricia Sipsy, Erin Sipsy, Peyton DeBerry and Emma DeBerry; one great-grandchild, Nico Crowe; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. DeBerry will be held Tuesday, February 24, at 2 p.m. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Sanford DeBerry and Rev. Milford Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews and include Billy Don DeBerry, Lamar DeBerry, LeBron DeBerry, Greg Shaver, Adam DeBerry, Jeremy DeBerry, Kenny Rosson, Chase DeBerry and Jesse DeBerry. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Mr. DeBerry will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Monday, February 23 from 6-8 p.m.

Coffman Funeral Home, Petitt Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
