  • Friday, June 5, 2015

Jeremy Wynn, 18, was arrested on Friday in Knoxville, on multiple charges stemming from an incident at Hamilton Place Mall last Saturday.

The Knoxville Police Department took Wynn in custody.  He was charged with auto burglary, unlawful possession of a firearm, and two counts of aggravated burglary.

Police said a shot was fired on the mall parking lot after an argument inside the mall spilled over outside.

It was reported that several unknown parties were involved in a verbal disorder inside the mall which eventually carried into the parking lot.

As the group separated, three to four individuals were walking to their vehicle when Wynn fired a single round in their direction and fled inside the mall.

Officers conducted a sweep of the mall in search of the suspect.

It was discovered that Wynn fled the area prior to police arrival.

Mall officials made the decision to continue business as normal and the mall was not placed on lock down.

Chattanooga Police officers did remain on scene until closing.

No one was struck by the gunfire and no property damage was reported.

Wynn was arrested May 19 on drug and gambling charges.
