Wilmer Perez Arrested On Charges Of Shooting Another Man In The Shoulder In Cleveland

Wilmer Perez is facing a charge of attempted second-degree murder after a shooting on Saturday night in Cleveland.

The victim, who was hit in the shoulder, was transported by EMS to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

At 7:06 p.m., Cleveland Police Department officers responded to the 1600 block of King Edward Avenue on a shooting. Officers found the victim, identified as Jesus Mendez, with a gunshot wound.

The victim identified the suspect as Perez, 33. The suspect was located a few minutes later by Cleveland Police Department officers at 752 12th St. SE.

At 7:36 p.m., Perez was placed in custody.

Criminal Investigations Detective Bill Parks responded to investigate the case and placed the charge on Perez.
