Betty Calloway
Betty A. Calloway, 66, died on Monday, October 3, 2016.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1949, in Barnesville, Ga. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and united with New Enon Baptist Church, 2302 Wilcox Blvd., Chattanooga, where she was a member of the choir and she planted the seed for many others to accept Christ. She was the sixth of eight children born to Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester and Agnes Caslin. She was a graduate of Riverside High School Class of 1968 and was named best dressed. She was employed by General Electric/Coors Ceramics for a total of 30 years before retiring.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother. She was loved and adored by so many. She always had a word of encouragement from the word of God for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester and Agnes Caslin; brothers, Johnny, Benny, and Sylvester Caslin and son, Antoine Teth Calloway.
Betty is survived by her sons, Monroe L Beard Jr. Donnie, Tracey and Anwoiane C. Calloway; daughter; Tameron King; brothers, Charles and Toney Caslin; sisters, Mary (Perry) Armour and Bernice (Roger) Mcnabb; grandchildren, Toni, Tikita, Cherrell, Shawnice, Monroe III, Ma’Kaye K, Heaven, Brooklyn, London, Carter, Cameron; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, in the chapel. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, Oct. 7, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
