Van, Motorcycle Collide On Hixson Pike; Motorcyclist Dies

A motorcyclist, David Evans II, 21, died hours after a collision Thursday morning on Hixson Pike.

 

Mr. Evans was on a Yamaha YFR 300 and was struck by a vehicle in the 5500 block of Hixson Pike.

 

Police said Henry Wilburn, 46, was driving a van traveling north, entered the center turn lane, and made a left turn in front of motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the van.

 

Traffic investigators continue to determine causes and contributing factors to crash.
