Police Blotter: Clerk Leaves Hixson Mapco Unattended; Jessica Takes Car And Keys Of Man Who Picked Her Up

A customer called police to report that the doors were open at the Mapco on Hamill Road, but no employees were around.

Officers got hold of the manager, who came to the store.

She reviewed the video to make sure nothing bad had happened to the clerk.

He was seen on the video  leaving the store at 7:05 a.m.

It turns out that his relief did not show up at 6 a.m. so he just left after waiting for over an hour.

Officials of Walmart on Gunbarrel Road said there had been a shortage in the cash drawer of clerk Jalorey Forte on several occasions.

He was assigned to a specific register one day and closely monitored.

Officials said at the end of the day there was a cash shortage of $1,001 at that register.

He was checked and found to have $500 on him, including $140 in twenties stuffed in his pants pocket.

Police said Forte was taken to jail and charged with theft over $1,000.

Patrick McNamera called police to say he saw a coupon offer from Affordable Dentures on Hamilton Park Drive.

He said the offer was for a free X-ray.

He said he was told it was not valid because he had not printed out the coupon and that he owed $120.

Thomas Maxwell said he picked up a white female named Jessica and took her to a hotel.

He said he showered and went to sleep.

When he woke up, his keys and car were gone along with Jessica.
