Chaffin, Wendel (South Pittsburg)

Wendel Clay Chaffin, 77, of South Pittsburg, TN passed away on Monday May 8, 2017.

He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of W.L. Hailey and was over the Marine Division and was a General Superintendent of building the Shelby Rhineheart Bridge as many other projects in the Southeast, Including the biggest out fall line in Nashville, TN . He enjoyed fishing and sports.

He was preceded in death by parents Wendell and Roxie Chaffin; half sisters Francis (David) Bush & Willodean (Lawrence) McMartury Jr. ; step – daughter Heather M. Davis.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years Margaret Blevins Chaffin; brother Fred Chaffin (Lebanon, TN); sister Reba Chaffin; half brother Joe Chaffin; step children Stacey (Tim) Hall, Corbin (Becky) Davis; grandchildren Keldon (Ally) Davis, Addison Davis, Carson Davis, Olivia Davis, Bridgett Hall & Grant Hall all of South Pittsburg, TN. Great-granddaughter Anna Bella Davis.

Visitation will be Tuesday May 9, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST

Funeral Services will be conducted from the Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday May 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. CST with Bro. Wayne Winters and Bro. Mickey Skates officiating.

Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
