Betty Laura Morgan, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at her home.

Betty was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was retired from Hamilton County Schools with several years of service. She was a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church, the Shaw Murray Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jimmy and John Smith and a daughter, Shirley Hampton Dick.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jim Morgan, son, Jay (Jenny) Morgan, Lafayette, Ga.; daughter, Connie Booth, Red Bank; sister, Alline Baker, Chattanooga; ten grandchildren, Jeremy Booth, Michael Booth, Matthew Booth, Morgan Booth, Meredith Booth, Sophie Hampton, Josh Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Jonathan Morgan and Jillian Morgan; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 23, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Don Smith officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6–8 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Red Bank United Methodist Church or to Hospice of Chattanooga.
