Former Chancellor Vann Owens Dies At 86

Former Hamilton County Chancellor R. Vann Owens has died at the age of 86.

He followed Wilkes Thrasher as chancellor and was succeeded by Frank Brown.

Chancellor Owens later served on the board of Erlanger Hospital. 

He was married for 56 years to Janice Williams Owens, who died in 2009. He married Betty Barnes Aquadro in 2011.

Chancellor Owens was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church on Signal Mountain.
