Southern Adventist University To Feature Wind Symphony Concert On Sunday

  • Thursday, October 10, 2019

Southern Adventist University’s School of Music will present this year’s first Wind Symphony concert this Sunday.

Nearly 60 wind, brass and percussion players will perform British Band Classics from England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Isle of Man.

Conducted by Associate Professor Ken Parsons, this concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the University Church in Collegedale.

“The music of British composers such as Vaughan Williams, Holst and Grainger form the bedrock of the wind literature.

Not only is it ‘important,’ it’s tuneful, toe-tapping and eminently enjoyable. I hope to see many of our Collegedale friends at the concert,” said Professor Parsons.

Admission to the Wind Symphony concert is free and open to the public.
