Charles Alan Standefer, Jr., 52, of Chattanooga, died while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 9, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jackson Standefer; father, Buz Standefer; uncle, Kim Buehler; aunts, Linda Chapin and Judy Schreeder; and grandparents, Bob and Evelyn Buehler, and Charles and Betty Standefer.

Survivors include his daughter, Alli Standefer; mother, Barbie Standefer; sister, Ellen (Mark) McOmie; niece, Claire McOmie; aunt, Karen (Steve) Nicely; honorary brother, Mike Shofner; and many loving cousins.

He was a 1986 graduate of the McCallie School. He earned his BS degree from Furman University where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, and earned his master’s degree from Clemson University.

He was the owner of Standefer Properties. He was a member of the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. He loved to coach little league baseball at the Rivermont Ball Park. He was an avid vintage car collector.

He loved to watch Bob Ross and play jeopardy with his daughter. He enjoyed fantasy baseball which combined his love of sports with his lifelong friendships from college.

There will be a private graveside service.

Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
