John Braxton Gaither passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, October, 25, 2019. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend who will be missed by all that knew him.

John was an adventurer, craftsman, and lover of life.  He was an eternal optimist who prioritized faith and family, which infused his life with meaning and purpose.

After a long career in banking and financial services, “Papa” traveled the world and spent time with his family, including his five beloved grandsons. He was a generous friend to many, always with an encouraging word and uplifting smile.

John was preceded in death by Paulette, his wife of 49 years.

He leaves behind his wife Debbie Tanner-Smith; his children Paul (Mia) Gaither, Sarah (Jason) Hooper; and five Grandsons, James, Tommy and Charlie Gaither and Jackson and John Hooper.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, in the funeral home chapel.
