Deacon Gene Arlette Suttles
Deacon Gene Arlette Suttles, age 81, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Monday, November 18, 2019.
He was born Nov. 14, 1938 in LaFayette, Ga. to his late parents, Robert Paul and Hazel Clements Suttles. Also preceding him was his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara Jean Suttles; brothers, Robert Carl and Paul Suttles; and sister, Patricia Ann Brabson.
Survivors are his daughter, Marissa J. Suttles (Bernard T.) Ellis of Atlanta, Ga.; grandson, Noah Ellis; sister, Margaret S. (Jimmy) Blalock; brothers, Reuben (Ann) Suttles, James LeBron (Deloise) Suttles, Dony (Mary) Suttles; aunt, Eunice Rooks of Chattanooga, Tn.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
A home going service will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, 1401 M. L. King, Jr. Blvd. Dalton, Ga., with Dr. Jerry Jones eulogist and other ministers officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 22, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
