Keep Sydney The Camel Out In The Country

  • Thursday, November 7, 2019
Sydney The Camel came to a fabulous "resort" in Soddy Daisy many months ago after retiring from the Chattanooga Zoo.

Unfortunately, the Zoo had very little contact with the new "keepers of Sydney" other than to tell them what to feed him.  Going from "NYC type of environment" to the country was an adjustment.  "City guy" going into the wide open country.  Like, "Hey what do I do with all of this space?"

Sydney finally got used to his new acreage and spring-fed pond and is a happy camper.  He did lose weight from having much more activity, but he is happy and healthy.

The Chattanooga Zoo has blocked any messages mentioning Sydney so I am writing here.  The Zoo is removing him next week from his paradise and sending him back into a fenced-in "block" for the remainder of his life.

Darde and the Chattanooga Zoo have been very hostile about this situation.  Too bad because they will be losing a lot of monetary support.

Keep Sydney in Soddy, Darde.
