Time Person Of The Year Is A Joke - And Response

Thursday, December 12, 2019

For over a century Time magazine has selected their man (later changed to person) of the year to honor one who has been the most newsworthy person in the world. Some of their choices were  heavily criticized such as Adolph Hitler, but to their credit they stuck to their journalistic integrity as there was no doubt unfortunately he was the most newsworthy of that year.

So now this year, wanting to enhance their politically correct bona fides, they name a 16-year-old from Sweden whose greatest achievement was rowing across the Atlantic to make us aware of climate change. Well golly gee, that's the first time I have ever heard anyone in my 72 years warn us of the impending doom that climate change will bring. Thank you, Greta, for bringing this to our attention.

Below is a list of former "Persons of the Year." Which one would appear not to belong?

Winston Churchill (Person of the Century), FDR, Dwight Eisenhower, Charles Lindbergh, Greta Thunberg, Gandhi, George Marshall, Dr. Marin Luther KIng Jr and Lech Walesa?

Doug I find it interesting none of the usual climate change advocates have responded to your post. I guess they are so gleeful in celebration of the diminutive Ms. Thunberg receiving this honor they missed your post.

Given Time Magazine’s deepening obsession with leftist dribble, I predict next year will be a tie for Persons of the Year: Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler.

I’m not sure how Time (the magazine) will decide how to reconcile their selection, but I am sure time (the span of history) will judge them badly if not laughingly. I know the photograph of the two on the front page will be hilariously reminiscent of two other clowns, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Maybe Greta can join them as Shirley Temple and they can be the opening act for the next round of the Bill and Hillary Comedy tour.

No More Gift Cards

I receive gift cards on special occasions from my family and enjoy them very much as I can make purchases that I could not ordinarily afford.
