James Howard Franklin, age 64, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Vera Franklin; and brothers, Dennis Franklin, Robert Franklin and an infant brother.

He is survived by his daughters, Staci (Ray) Rich of Chatsworth, Stephanie Franklin and Jamie Dunsmore of Varnell, Sabrina (Matthew) Weaver of Sequatchie, Tn.; sisters and brother-in-law, June Franklin of Ringgold, Rose (Greg) Peters of Graysville, Ga.; brothers, Joe Franklin of Varnell, Michael Franklin of Ringgold; grandchildren, Bristian, Lewis, Elick, Ian, Isaiah, Brianna, Logan, Austin, Gabe, Sarah, Ansel, and Elijah; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Shipman officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 3 p.m. until the service time at 4 p.m.
