Police said three people are being charged with robbing a store clerk on Dodds Avenue at knifepoint.

Those involved in the robbery last Friday were identified as Willie Earl Greer, 49; Isiah Tatum, 37, and James Lane.

The clerk at the store at 1811 Dodds Ave., speaking through an interpreter, said two black males came into the store. He said one was about six feet tall and 300 pounds. The other was wearing a long jacket, jeans, yellow boots and a Navy hat.

He said the larger suspect grabbed a Powerade from the cooler and put it on the counter, while the man in the yellow boots went around behind the counter, pulled a knife and demanded money. The pair then left with the money.

Police said the incident was caught on video.

An officer the next day spotted Greer wearing yellow boots matching those of one of the robbers. He said Greer was brought in for questioning and admitted taking part in the robbery.

He said Tatum had suggested, "Let's rob a store."  Greer said he was high on drugs. He said he uses cocaine and was in need of money.

He said Lane was the driver of the getaway vehicle.
