John C. Densmore, Sr., age 78, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. 

Mr. Densmore was preceded in death by his loving first wife, Myra Louise Saine Densmore; loving daughter, Denise Densmore; parents, Fletcher and Lola Densmore; grandson, “little” Randy Dutton; brothers, Billy Densmore, James Densmore, Kenneth Densmore; sister, Dorthy Long; special friends, Tom and Edna Graves and Clay and Bobbie King. 

He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Sue Densmore of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, John, Jr. and Becky Densmore of Dalton and Michael and Linda Young of Lafayette; daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Mike Swan, Ambra and Daneil Swinney and Terri and James Blackwell, all of Dalton; brother, Sam Densmore; sisters, Kathrine Long, Lois Bailey and Louise Arnold; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Tonda Saine of Spring Hill, Fl., Richard and Fay Bass of Dalton, Lynn and Martha Saine of Lafayette; grandchildren and spouses, Johnathon and Keshia Densmore, Jimmy and Nicole Densmore, Jeffrey and Tiffany Densmore, Tisha and Spence Tipton, Shanae Swan and Roy Blackstock, Christopher Carter, Dekota and Marisa Carter, Autumn Swan, Josh and Jenna Swinney, Memorie Swinney, Morgan and Josh Bowles, Micha Young, Ethan Young; great-grandchildren, Reiley, Tegan, Alex, Alyssa, Isbell and Lance Densmore, Avery, Addison, Amerie and Colter Tipton, Camden Swan, Lil Roy Blackstock, Grayson and Jase Carter, Ryleigh Goswick, Anna Leigh Carter, Maelynn Neighbors and Kaleigh Swinney; and nieces and nephews also survive. 

The funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Densmore will be held Saturday, April 27, at 12:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Willis and Rev. Stacy Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Dawnville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Johnathan, Jimmy and Jeffrey Densmore, Micha and Ethan Young, Christopher and Dekota Carter. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
