A couple nights ago, my daughter and some friends went to see Avengers: Endgame at the Majestic 12 downtown. Their experience was really great, up until the closing scenes.
They started hearing what sounded like gunshots, and at first, just assumed it was audio from the next theatre over.
But then, the sounds kept coming. People started taking their phones out, looking around, and some immediately headed for the exits, while the movie was still playing. There was an obvious change in the demeanor of the folks attending the movie, to include my daughter and her friends.
The sounds eventually subsided, the movie ended, and later they found out it was just fireworks after the Lookouts game.
My suggestion, in this day and age of theatre shootings and people already being on edge, is for the Majestic, with their hundreds of paying customers, to simply find out the Lookouts schedule of fireworks, and post a couple signs on the doors on those nights, alerting customers they'll be happening.
There were a bunch of customers who paid good money to see this momentous movie on opening weekend, and they missed the ending. Not only did they miss the ending, but they were scared for their lives.
