The Morning Pointe Foundation announces Chattanooga State Community College student Michael-Patrick Exum has earned the 2019 Morning Pointe Foundation scholarship.
Each year, the Morning Pointe Foundation awards nine scholarships to geriatric nursing students attending educational partner institutions in Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama. Plans are in the works for additional scholarships in Knoxville and Tullahoma in 2019.
Mr. Exum recently graduated from Chattanooga State with an associate’s degree in applied science, focusing on registered nursing. After graduation, he plans to work as a registered nurse in the operating room before applying to medical school to pursue his dream of becoming a surgeon.
“To me, this scholarship meant everything. It allowed me to focus on my studies and helped reduce my stress,” Mr. Exum says. “I am extremely grateful.”
