Several members of the local legislative delegation on Wednesday presented a resolution passed by the Legislature honoring Hamilton County on its 200th anniversary.
The county was formed in 1819 when sections were still held by the Cherokee Nation.
Those taking part were Senator Todd Gardenhire and Reps. Patsy Hazlewood and Yusuf Hakeem.
Linda Mines, county historian, accepted in behalf of the county.
She said a series of events are being planned to celebrate the anniversary.
