Heart Disease And Stroke Preventive Health Screenings To Be Offered July 8

Hawkinsville Church Community Initiative is partnering with Life Line Screening, a provider of community-based preventive health screenings, to offer affordable and convenient preventive heart disease and stroke preventive health screenings on Monday, July 8, at 7463 Pinewood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, in the East Brainerd Community.

Heart disease and stroke are Hamilton County's #1 cause of deaths per the Hamiton County Health Department.

There are limited appointments and one must go to the website to schedule.


Five health screenings will be offered that scan for potential health problems related to:
1. Blocked Arteries which is a leading cause of stroke;
2. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms which can lead to a ruptured aorta;
3. Hardening of the Arteries in the legs which is a strong predictor of heart disease;
4. Atrial Fibrillation or Irregular Heart Beat which is closely tied to stroke risk;
5. Bone Density screening, for men and women, used to assess the risk of osteoporosis.

All five screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete.
