Deontae Talley's Murder Case Moved To Criminal Court Via Information

A murder suspect was conspicuously absent from Judge Christie Sell's General Sessions Court on Monday.

However, there was a good reason for this. Supervising prosecutor Colin Campbell had moved Deontae Talley, 29, a suspect in the murder of Tymetric Lejuan Graham, from Sessions into the Criminal Courts.

It was done via an agreed Information, thus bypassing the Grand Jury.

Talley is charged with criminal homicide and unlawful possession of a weapon for his alleged killing in mid-April. According to investigators, Talley and Graham had been involved in a heated argument prior to the shooting.

After turning himself in, Talley was moved to the Hamilton County Jail, where he remains. The judge set his bond at $1,550,000.

Talley has a lengthy criminal history. In February, he was charged with non-payment of child support, and in 2015 he was charged with contempt of court.

Earlier that year, Talley was charged with driving on a suspended or cancelled license, criminal trespassing, and contempt of court. In 2013, Talley was hit with a criminal trespassing charge, a charge he also incurred in 2012.
