County Shifting Employee Health Clinic To One To One Health

  • Wednesday, July 10, 2019

Hamilton County government is shifting the operation of its employee health clinic to Chattanooga-based One-to-One Health.

Officials said the firm, headed by Dr. Keith Helton, was the low of three bidders.

Galen Medical has been providing the service.

The change takes place on Dec. 1.

Officials said some of the current employees may remain, but there is no guarantee.

Dr. Helton said the new service will include 24/7 "telehealth" access to a healthcare consultation online.

The contract last year cost $968,682. It will rise to $1,216,006.

Officials said it is still a cost savings to taxpayers over the former system in which county employees went to other healthcare providers.

It has also been helpful in detective problems such as hypertension and providing treatment options, it was stated.

Dr. Helton said his firm has an emphasis on boosting employee health through wellness programs, not just providing help during a medical problem.
