Police Blotter: Bicycle Theft Suspect Has $1,450 On Him From "Yard Work"; Ridge Residents Doubtful That Motorcyclist Really Is Post Office Employee

The manager of a store near Hamilton Place mall said four black males and three black females entered the store. After disbursing in the store, one of the men left the store with a pair of Nike shoes. A couple of employees had attempted to help the men shop prior to this event, but the men became angry, which resulted in a verbal disorder, police said. The manager said the men causing the disorder entered a black Nissan Sentra and left towards Hamilton Place Mall.

A man on Baltusrol Road in Hixson said his wife had called him stating their doorbell camera witnessed the end of someone stealing a package from their front porch. He said at approximately 4:30 p.m. the video showed the back of what appears to be a white male leaving the area with the package, but it did not show the suspect's face. A neighbor said they observed a black Civic leave the area around the some time as the theft.

There was suspicious activity at a residence on Waheela Road. A woman told police that she had a recording showing two young white males (one skinny and one heavier set) taking a bicycle from her property. However, her husband found the bicycle near their home. Police searched the area and found one of the suspects matching the description walking on Rossville Boulevard. He told police that he was just out walking. He had no warrants and was released. Soon after, police located another person fitting the description. He said he was simply out walking around and was heading towards the Brew and Cue. A search of the man turned up approximately $1,450 in cash on his person. The man said he was recently paid for lawn services. He was then checked for any wants or warrants, which came back negative. He was then sent on his way.

Officers spoke with a woman with a problem at Teaser's Bikini Bar and Grill, 1401 E 23rd St. She said while she was dancing in the VIP room someone took her Crown Royal bag containing her money, phone, debit card, ID, Social Security card, and other miscellaneous items from the table. Management was unable to see anyone take her bag on camera, and had no suspect information at this time.

A store manager at the Circle K on Shallowford Road told police a thin black male, about 5'6" and wearing an orange shirt and khaki pants, attempted to shoplift two cases of Corona beer valued at about $50.  He said the thief walked out the door and attempted to get in a vehicle. Then he got into a physical altercation with a woman while he attempted to drive away. Bystanders then blocked the vehicle and he took off on foot. The Circle K is interested in prosecuting on the shoplifting. The woman who was involved in the physical altercation said she gave the shoplifting suspect a ride and knew him only as "House." When she was in the store and "House" walked out with the beer, she attempted to stop him from driving off with her silver Mercury. When he was in the driver's seat and starting to pull off with the vehicle, she opened the driver's door and tried to turn the vehicle off and take the keys. She fell injuring her knee before bystanders blocked his movement. The woman turned down EMS help and said she did not want to prosecute "House" for the auto theft, who had skedaddled  on foot east on Shallowford Road.

A man who was interviewed on South Crest Road explained that he is a postal worker for the United States Postal Service and he was out delivering mail on his personal motorcycle. Hel showed an officer his USPS identification cards, which he was wearing outside of his shirt in a clearly visible manner. He also explained that they often use personal vehicle when delivering various types of mail. As he was delivering the mail to the address at 450 S Crest Road, two of the tenants came outside of the house and began demanding that he show them his credentials, arguing with him about the legitimacy of his credentials, and telling him to leave the area. The officer then spoke with the two tenants, "All parties agreed that this was a misunderstanding, and everyone received their mail and went their separate ways."

A woman said at 5:30 p.m., she met an unknown black male at Brainerd High School to sell her cell phone to him. She said the man did not get out of his silver sedan, possibly a Hyundai, and made her boyfriend walk up to his driver window. She said her boyfriend handed the phone to the man for him to look at. He then took the SIM card out of the phone and drove off with the phone without giving them the money. The woman said she was going to sell the phone to the man for $550. She said she met the man on Facebook, and his profile name is Wesley Bidon. She said the man who met her and her boyfriend is the same person pictured on his Facebook page.

A man said after he stopped in at a liquor store on Highway 58 that a woman approached him and told him that four black males had just jumped in his car and stole the vehicle. The manager of the store was notified as well and said he would be able to provide video footage. The vehicle was a black Toyota Camry owned by Hertz Rental company and rented through the Chattanooga Airport.
