Adam Herron
Adam Herron has been arrested after shooting an intruder early Thursday morning.
At 12:47 a.m. Herron called 911 to report a gunshot at his residence at 1050 Upper River Road NE, Charleston, Tn. in Bradley County.
Upon arrival, detectives made contact with Herron and conducted an interview to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
Herron stated he was asleep and he woke up to a man inside his bedroom dragging him off the bed by his feet.
Herron stated that the man dragged him towards the front door a short distance from the bed. He stated he grabbed a shotgun that belonged to his father, which he kept under his pillow, and fired one shot at the man who fell off the porch.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence and a shotgun was located on the porch.
EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the male suspect, William Pappageorge deceased.
Herron is a convicted felon out of Bradley County. He was convicted of aggravated burglary on July 6, 2010, in the Criminal Court of Bradley County. Due to his conviction, it is unlawful for Herron to possess a firearm. Therefore, he is being charged with prohibited weapon for the shotgun, and unlawful possession of a firearm due to his felony conviction.
He is currently being held in the Bradley County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
The homicide is still under investigation, and additional charges will be determined after a full examination of all evidence collected at the scene, statements of material witnesses, and further consultation with the District Attorney’s Office.
