Elana “Lana” Paige Minchew, 20, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019.  

She was born August 3, 1999, in Chattanooga.

Lana was a 2017 graduate of East Hamilton High School.  She had a love for animals, outdoors, and life. 

She is survived by her parents, Thomas and Lisa Minchew; sister, Samantha Minchew of all of Chattanooga; grandparents, Willard and Betty Minchew of Brewton, Al., and Randall and Donna Perry of Chattanooga; great-grandmother, Velma Chaney of Pensacola, Fl.; uncle and aunts, Keith and Melissa Minchew of New Orleans, La., Justin and Angie LaFountain of Cookeville, Tn., and Starr Perry of Chattanooga; and several cousins. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 12-2 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 3 p.m. with Father Manuel Pérez officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations should be made to your local animal shelter. 

Arrangements are by the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
