Eloise Bobo Hargrove, 88, of Ooltewah, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at her residence.  

She accepted Christ at an early age.  She was a member of New Pilgrim Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.  Eloise was a graduate of Miles College and the University of Connecticut.  She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in education.  She was an educator with the Jefferson County Board of Education for over 40 years.  

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Mazie Jackson Bobo.  

Survivors include her sons, Julius (Sharlene) Hargrove of Ooltewah, Tn., and Gary (Karen) Carter of Pleasant Grove, Al.; daughter, Nyralon Bobo Ming of Fairfield, Al.; daughter-in-law, Teena Hargrove; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.  

Eloise will lie in state on Thursday, Aug. 29, after 12:30 p.m. with visitation with the family to follow from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. She will also lie in state on Friday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m. (CST) at New Pilgrim Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama with the funeral to follow at noon (CST) with Reverend Dr. James H. Brooks as the eulogist.  

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer, Al.
