Tauren Wells
Lee University will welcome American Christian rock and pop artist Tauren Wells on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.
Mr. Wells was the founder of the band Royal Tailor which produced two albums over a five-year career, earning two Grammy nominations and a New Artist of the Year Award from the Gospel Music Association Dove awards. He then signed as an independent artist and has received Grammy nominations for Best Contemporary Christian Performance/Song and Contemporary Christian Album of the Year.
Mr. Wells is a father, songwriter, worship academy founder, multi-instrumentalist, and performer. Many of his songs, including “Known” and “All My Hope,” have reached top spots on popular Christian music charts.
Mr. Wells and his wife, Lorna, have based their life around ministry and music. In addition to serving on staff at her father's church in Houston, the two have launched a private music academy, Prisma Worship Arts School. Through the school, Prisma offers private coaching in many aspects of the musical arts.
“It’s God’s presence that changes atmospheres,” said Mr. Wells. “It’s not our talent, not our gifts, not our abilities, not our skills. It’s when those things are aligned with God’s presence that we can really create moments where people can really encounter Jesus.”
