Doris Ann Edgeman
Doris Ann Edgeman, age 75, of the Pleasant Grove Community, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Silvey and Winnie Lee Foster; and sister, Yvonne Summey.
She loved caring for and teaching children. Doris loved her family very much and spending time in the mountains camping. Over the years, she enjoyed playing the piano and organ at church. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Charles Edgeman of the residence; daughter, Lisa Edgeman of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, LaDarren and Melinda Edgeman of Dalton; sister, Louise Ogles of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Charlene Foster of Dalton; three grandchildren, Chandler and Colter Carpenter and Tori Edgeman; one great-grandchild, Graham Carpenter; and nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Darey Kittle and Dr. Rodger Whorton officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 922 E. Morris St. Dalton, GA 30721.
The family would like to thank the staff of Homestead Hospice for their tender love and care during Doris’ sickness.
