Fire Damages Home On Bill Reed Road Monday Night

  • Tuesday, September 24, 2019

A neighbor called 911 at 9 p.m. on Monday reporting her neighbor’s home was on fire.

The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to 9320 Bill Reed Road reported a 40x60 metal barn and a two-room residence on fire.

Firefighters worked quickly to get water on the structure but had spread fast and walls began to collapse and became an unstable structure.

As a result, firefighters conducted a defensive attack to keep the fire to the one structure. Other fire crews contained the adjacent woods fire.

No injuries were reported, but HCEMS was on the scene for any potential injuries to the first responders.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Tri-Community VFD Fire Marshal’s Office.

Tri-Community VFD officials reported $50,000 in damages.
