Jimmy Hubert Owens, 82, of Benton, went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep on Monday, September 9, 2019 at his residence, with his loving family at his side.  He was born on June 10, 1937, and attended Greasy Creek Elementary as a young boy.  He gave his heart to Jesus in October 2017 and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, great-grandkids and dog, Corky, who were all his pride and joy.  He will truly be missed by all.

Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juanita Cronan Owens; parents, Luther and Cora Cochran Owens; siblings, Eskell Owens, George Owens, Frank Owens, Johnny Owens, Blanche Rymer, Marie Couey, Frances Wright and Janie Owens.

Survivors include his loving daughters, Penny (Terry) Stonecipher and Melissa Andies and boyfriend, Robert Bryson; grandchildren, Jacqueline Stonechipher and Lauren Stonechipher; great-grandchildren, Brieliegh Green and twin sister, Braeliegh Green, Adam Shawn Lee Bremmer, Jr. and Braydon Green; and sister, Etta Bee Goforth.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Jake Brown and Pastor Carl Haulk officiating.  Interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
