East Ridge Police have found a hit and run driver in a wreck that caused a motorcyclist to lose his leg. Police were seeking to find the driver.

Police had been looking for a red pickup truck. Officers recovered from the scene a Ford front plate with a United States Marine Corps plate frame.

Jeffrey Stiner was driving his motorcycle in the 6400 block of Ringgold Road Tuesday around 9 p.m. when a truck failed to stop and ran into him.

The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene as Mr. Stiner lay at the roadway with a serious leg injury.

Police said the red truck then fled the area through the parking lot of McDonald's, south on N. Smith Street, and then west on Ringgold Road. The truck was reported as having gone north on McBrien Road and also possibly Spring Creek. The vehicle had/has front end damage and also a lowered/ possibly hanging passenger side headlight.

At the hospital, medical staff told him the leg could not be saved.
