Second Missionary Baptist Relocates Services During Renovation

After months of prayerful consideration and strategic planning, Pastor Ernest L. Reid, Jr., officers and members of Second Missionary Baptist Church, 2305 E. Third St., will soon embark upon a major sanctuary and parking lot renovation. The project is expected to take six months.

 The renovation results include changes to the location of SMBC’s services.  Effective Sunday, worship services will be held at the Orchard Park Seventh Day Adventist Church, 951 N. Orchard Knob Ave in Chattanooga. 

SMBC will have both 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. services at Orchard Park SDA, as well as Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.  Baptisms and baby dedications will also be held at Orchard Park SDA.  Wednesday night Bible Study will continue to be held in the McDaniel Chapel of SMBC.

Arrangements for other services, will be coordinated by Pastor Reid to ensure the needs of members and their families are met. 

SMBC facilities will not be available for rent during this renovation period.

SMBC will maintain normal business hours at the church, Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and on Fridays, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  For more information, call the church office at 624-9097.
