Marjorie Pearl Markham Duncombe, 96, went home to the loving presence of her Savior on October 10, 2020, in Gulf Breeze, Fl., in the presence of her daughter Kay.

She was born in York, Al., on Jan. 22, 1924, to the late Clyde Leslie Markham Sr. and Pearl Sturdivant Markham.  She was one of seven children, having two sisters and four brothers.

Margie was very personable and had a quick, warm smile.  She left the South after marrying the love of her life in 1942, David M. Duncombe, of Ogden, Utah. They were married 65 years.  Margie was very industrious and worked until age 72, mostly as a doctor's assistant. Having married a Cadet in the United States Army Air Corps, Margie, Mom,Nana, had a lifetime of military adventures living throughout the USA, including two four - year tours abroad living in Marrakesh, Morocco and Ankara, Turkey. Settling in Paradise, California in 1965, she lived a life dedicated to the Church, her family and dear friends.  She was well loved and respected, and will be sorely missed by all who were honored to have known her.She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters; Doris and Dorothy Welton (Wib) of Chattanooga; brothers, Leslie and Weldon Markham of Chattanooga.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Millette of Gulf Breeze, Fl.; son, Mike (Brenda) Duncombe of Langlois, Oregon; sister-in-law, Doris Borger of Roy, Utah; grandchildren, Tanya (Kevin) Millette, Tania (Anthony) Reading, David (Tatyana) Miletta,  Kimberly (Dan) Barger, Aaron (Jessica) Duncombe  and David Matthew Duncombe; brothers, Lynn (Nancy)  Markham of Brentwood, Tn. and Wilbourne (Delores) Markham of Signal Mountain, Tn; 13 great -grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Public viewing will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20. A celebration of her life will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
