Hamilton County Has 131 New Coronavirus Cases; Tennessee Deaths Top 3,000

Hamilton County had no new deaths from the coronavirus on Thursday, as the toll remained at 106. There were 131 new cases, compared to 111 on Wednesday, bringing the total to 11,628. This is the highest number of new cases since Aug. 18.

There have been 10,578 people recover from the virus in the county, 91 percent, and there are 944 active cases, up 53 since Wednesday.

There are currently 78 people hospitalized in Hamilton County, and two more suspected cases, from the virus. There are 19 Hamilton County residents hospitalized and 18 people in intensive care. 

There were 2,046 new coronavirus cases in the state on Thursday for a total of 237,907.

 

Tennessee had 41 more coronavirus deaths bringing the total to 3,011, state Health Department officials said. 

The state currently has 1,300 people hospitalized from the virus, 32 more than on Wednesday.

There have been 212,555 people who have recovered from the virus in Tennessee (89 percent).


Testing numbers are above 3.424 million across the state.

Knox County: 12,174 cases, up 93; 88 deaths, up 1

Bledsoe County:  999 cases, up 5; 4 deaths

Bradley County: 3,479 cases, up 32; 23 deaths, up 1

Grundy County: 535 cases, up 10; 11 deaths, up 1

Marion County: 724 cases, up 9; 9 deaths

Meigs County: 300 cases, up 3; 5 deaths

Polk County: 483 cases, up 7; 13 deaths

Rhea County: 1,063 cases, up 4; 16 deaths

Sequatchie County: 329 cases, down 1; 4 deaths
