Born on Dec. 15, 1937 in Griffin, Ga. to the late Bernard and Bessie White Brown, he spent a majority of his life in Bradley County and attended Tasso United Methodist Church. Edward was a 1957 graduate of Bradley Central High School, a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Maytag after 42 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, Tennessee football, supporting the Bradley Central Bears and, most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Brown Dowdy, and brother-in-law, Dan Stevison.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Diane Stevison Brown; children, Eric(Kim) Brown, of Chattanooga and Michael (Brittany) Brown, of Cleveland; grandchildren, Michaela Brown, of Cleveland, Jacob Brown, of Cleveland, Elizabeth Brown, of Cleveland, and Joshua Brown, of Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, Gary Stevison (Carolyn) and Jack Dowdy, both of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Martha Stevison; and numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30 in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, with the Reverend Joseph Ratledge and the Reverend Todd Stevison officiating. Eric Brown, Michael Brown, Jacob Brown, Todd Stevison, Ralph Bryan and Tony Bullington will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Tasso United Methodist Church in Edward’s memory.
