Change And Challenge

  • Friday, October 30, 2020

If there’s one thing 2020 has taught us it’s that life will always bring us changes and challenges.  I can’t think of a more idyllic place to live than our precious little hamlet replete with the charm and coziness we’ve come to expect. When the pandemic brought “stay at home orders”, I felt as though it would be rather difficult. In fact the opposite was true. Here in Walden we have a picturesque town with hiking and walking trails aplenty, a historic venue, a puppy patch for our dogs, a playground for our children, a community center, and ancillary services at our disposal.

All of these things were made possible by the careful planning and unrivaled dedication of our mayor, Bill Trohanis. Bill has been a long time friend so I feel confident in speaking to you about him.  I know his heart, and it is full with commitment to our community and its residents.  I’ve heard him worried about the division in our community regarding the Village Town Center. I’ve watched as he considered each and every viewpoint, for and against this project.  I’ve watched with wonder how many experts he sought counsel from, and how he continues to weigh the issues of the townspeople.

He has the leadership abilities to get things done with a keen eye on the future needs of our town. The challenge of his position has been met with genuine concern, careful consideration and the assuredness of a professional that I know for sure would cripple a lesser man.

During his five year tenure Bill Trohanis has met each change and challenge with a unique passion, commitment, and tirelessness that defines him. This is his trademark...this is my friend...and I want him to continue to lead Walden as only he can.
