Catherine M. Neely, sometimes called Moma, Cackie, Coach, Mama Kat by family and friends and her sports family, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.  

 

Catherine is most known as a legend in sports to the thousands of lives she touched at East Ridge High School.  Catherine, "Moma", Mama Kat will truly be missed by her family. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, James "Tooter" Marshall and Gladys Marshall.

 

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, William "Bill" Neely, son, Marshall Allen Neely and wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Travis (Brittany) Neely, Tyler, Adam (Michelle) Pitre and Christian (Robbie) Davis, sister, Carol Beddingfield, great-grandchildren, Presely, Payton, Rylee and Cash; several nieces, nephews and a large inner circle of friends.

 

Visitation will be at Legacy Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with family services at 2 p.m. with Pastor Alan Stewart officiating.  Burial will be at Schneitman Cemetery.

 

For our extended family of friends, sports friends, coaches, students, lives touched by Catherine Neely, there will be a "Celebration of Life" at East Ridge High School on Dec. 5, at a time to be announced.
