Georgia Has 56 New Coronavirus Deaths, 2nd Highest Record Day Of 5,890 New Cases

Georgia state health officials reported on Thursday there have been 56 additional deaths due to the coronavirus. The current total is 9,358.

There were 5,890 new cases, the second highest recorded day, as that total reached 494,173 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 38,718, up 300 from Wednesday. 

Here are the numbers by county:

Catoosa County: 2,705 cases, up 74; 34 deaths; 135 hospitalizations, up 1

Chattooga County: 1,357 cases, up 26; 38 deaths, up 1; 93 hospitalizations

Dade County: 621 cases, up 8; 7 deaths; 38 hospitalizations, up 1

Walker County: 3,233 cases, up 57; 53 deaths; 149 hospitalizations, up 4

Whitfield County: 9,424 cases, up 162; 106 deaths, up 4; 460 hospitalizations, up 6
