Buddy’s bar-b-q is opening for business on Sunday at 568 Northgate Mall Dr., Suite 101 in Hixson. The East Tennessee barbeque restaurant’s new location is at the intersection of Hixson Pike and Highway 153, next to TJ Maxx.
“Hixson is my hometown and my family could not be more proud to bring Buddy’s bar-b-q home,” said Darik Dawes, managing partner. “We serve delicious, always fresh food at a real value with good old southern hospitality, and offer many options for our guests.”
Dawes group also opened Buddy’s eateries in East Ridge behind Bass Pro and in Cleveland on Paul Huff Parkway across from Publix.
"Buddy’s bar-b-q is famous for offering fresh hickory-smoked, pulled pork bar-b-q, smoked chicken and tender, mouth-watering ribs, along with hearty baked beans, fresh coleslaw, hush puppies, potato salad and delicious desserts of all kinds," officials said. "The family recipes have been prepared the same way for over 46 years."
“I am thrilled to have this well-known Tennessee company choose Hixson for its most recent location and invest in our community. I am also a fan of Buddy’s bar-b-q home-style southern cooking,” said State Senator Bo Watson.
Buddy’s was first established in 1972 in Knoxville, and the expansion to Hixson marks the 19th location in the Buddy’s family and the third in the greater Chattanooga area.
“Buddy’s bar-b-q opening in Hixson, not only brings great barbeque, but also tens of thousands of dollars to the state and local economy annually," said State Representative Robin Smith. “I am excited to see them here.”
"Buddy’s still operates today with the original philosophy of treating customers as if they were guests in their own home," officials said.
Buddy’s bar-b-q offers dine-in with both indoor and outdoor seating. Buddy’s also has a drive-thru window and partners with various delivery services. Buddy’s bar-b-q has its own app to give customers as many convenient ordering choices as possible. Buddy’s sells feed 5 or feed 10 family to-go packs and offers delivery and set-up services for large groups and events.
