Georgia Has 49 More COVID Deaths, With A Record 5,145 New Cases

Georgia state health officials reported on Friday there have been 49 additional deaths due to the coronavirus. The current total is 9,656.

There were 5,145 new cases, as that total reached 537,079 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 40,630, up 91 from Thursday. 

Here are the numbers by county:

Catoosa County: 3,072 cases, up 35; 35 deaths, up 1; 154 hospitalizations

Chattooga County: 1,462 cases, up 12; 43 deaths; 100 hospitalizations

Dade County: 678 cases, up 5; 7 deaths; 38 hospitalizations

Walker County: 3,571 cases, up 25; 54 deaths; 160 hospitalizations

Whitfield County: 10,337 cases, up 81; 110 deaths, up 1; 488 hospitalizations, up 1
