Baylor announced that classes will begin remotely on Wednesday, Jan. 6, and students will return to campus for in-person instruction on Jan. 19. Classes were originally scheduled to resume on campus and in-person on Jan. 6.
"Locally, our hospitals and their ICU’s are stretched to capacity with serious cases," said Headmaster Scott Wilson. "During the past weeks, we have stayed in contact with our medical advisors, and they have advised us about the best course of action for our safest return to school in January."
Parents and students should continue to check myBaylor for important updates throughout the coming days.
The following outlines the school's current plans:
Baylor will not reconvene school on campus and in-person until Tuesday, Jan.19. The school is prepared to accommodate boarding students for whom changes in travel plans are impractical; however, we discourage a return to campus for boarding students until the weekend of Jan. 16-17, if possible.
Students need to be prepared to learn and study remotely beginning Wednesday, Jan. 6. Virtual class schedules will be communicated to students through myBaylor within the next few days.
All athletic activities (practices, meetings, competitions) will be suspended until the week of Jan. 18.
