Roy Hitchcock, 65, of Sale Creek, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Memorial Hospital.

He was born on April 23, 1955, in Chattanooga the son of the late Roy and Mildred (Irvin) Hitchcock and was also preceded in death by his wife Cynthia (Flatt) Hitchcock. 

Roy was a painter with Astec Industries for 40 years. He was an avid bass fisherman, fishing numerous local tournaments and was currently the president of the Astec Bass Club. 

He is survived by his daughter Rebecca Hitchcock of Sale Creek, his brother, Kenneth (Gail) Hitchcock of Sale Creek, four sisters, Jody (Jimmy) Harden of Soddy, Peggy Sue Hitchcock, Katherine Baker and Edna “Teeny” Hitchcock all of Chattanooga. Roy is also survived by his long time companion Billie Dupre of Cleveland. 

A graveside funeral service for Roy will be held Sunday, Dec. 6, at 1 p.m. at Welch Rogers Cemetery in Sale Creek with Reverend Archie Poole officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife.

The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8 p.m.
