Firefighter Suffers Minor Injuries In House Fire Early Wednesday Morning

A firefighter suffered minor injuries in a house fire early Wednesday morning.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a residential fire around 5:50 a.m. at East 35 Street and Clio Avenue.

Someone called 911 to report that they saw smoke coming from the eaves of the home. Engine 9 arrived and found heavy smoke showing from the attic. Engine 5 made an interior attack and the fire was out in 12 minutes.

The cause is under investigation. Flames were contained to the attic and one room of the house.

A firefighter sustained minor injuries on the scene and was treated and released from the hospital.
